Treating Neglected Tropical Diseases
GW is an internationally-recognized center for excellence in treating emerging infections in the developing world. Scientists in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Tropical Medicine, one of the nation’s only academic departments devoted to tropical infectious diseases, have developed a first-generation recombinant vaccine for hookworm infection.
