Dear New Residents and Fellows,
We’re looking forward to seeing you at New Resident Orientation, and would like to address a few items that might be helpful before you arrive.
Orientation will take place at GW in Ross Hall, Rm 117 for all attendees (please see link below). Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. each day you attend. There will be a breakfast available when you arrive. Below are a few FAQ's to assist you, however, please contact our office at (202) 994-3737 with any additional questions you might have, and you will be directed to the appropriate person.
The Academic Center Parking Garage on Eye (I) Street between 21st and 22nd Streets.
Note: Residents are assigned to a parking garage at orientation. Please bring your vehicle registration with you. This is not a personal parking space; it is to be used only while on duty at GW Hospital/MFA.
We recommend:
1) For PGY1 June Orientation Attendees: June 15, 16, 17 (Wed-Fri)
Wed, June 15th - Business casual. Keep in mind that you will have your photo taken 3 times this day- Hosp. ID, GWorld ID and Resident Facebook.
Thurs, June 16th - Business casual and comfortable. It is suggested you wear comfortable walking shoes this day, and keep in mind you will go outdoors for a 2 hour team building event.
Fri, June 17th - Business Attire. This day will include a luncheon with the faculty followed by the White Coat Ceremony. Please feel free to have your family, spouses and significant others join you for the White Coat Ceremony which will be in GW Hospital, Lower Level Main Auditorium at 2:00 pm.
2) For PGY2 & Up Orientation Attendees - Fri. July 1st - Business Casual. Keep in mind you will have your photo taken for IDs this day.

Please refer to your Resident Manual for benefits information. There is a link in the manual which takes you directly to the HR website. Please review the information prior to orientation.
If you have not completed your I-9 prior to orientation, you must bring the original proofs of identify and/or employment authorization and a copy of each to give to the I-9 processor. All documents must be unexpired. Expired documents cannot be accepted. Remember: original, copy, unexpired. You must complete the I-9 process at or before orientation or your employment will be terminated by the University.
You should have already received an e-mail notification from our E*Value system providing you with a link to access and complete these training modules, which must be completed prior to orientation.
