OSHA Training

Residents must participate in annual education and training in occupational risks and methods to reduce risk in compliance with OSHA standards on occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. This training is completed between June 1 and July 31 of each year of residency training.

To fulfill the annual requirement, residents are required to review the course material and then complete and submit the test. An e-mail notification is generated annually by the GME Office providing instructions and a link to the E*Value website where training is accomplished. Please note that these notifications are sent to your GW e-mail account. Residents must correctly answer 10 of 11 questions on the OSHA test, and will be notified via e-mail if additional course review and re-test is required.

The record of OSHA education is retained by the GME Office and is provided upon request to affiliate sites.
